Supporting Your Future Health - Dick Lefroy Fellowship in Health and Ageing

We need to continue generating new knowledge about ageing if we are to help people stay healthy and active well into later life. To do this we must insure that we have a sufficient pool of skilled young researchers who are passionate about ageing research. By providing financial support to an early career researcher would enable them to fast track their career. Our Centre is seeking financial support to make this a reality.

In appreciation of the enormous contribution that Dr Richard Bruce Lefroy has made in establishing the practice of geriatric medicine in Western Australia, the Centre is seeking to honour his achievements and inspire an early career researcher by naming the research fellowship in his name. The Dick Lefroy Fellowship in Health and Ageing will support an aspiring young researcher to pursue a career in health and ageing research. This fellowship aims to attract the brightest and most promising young researcher to Western Australia.

This Fellowship will be career shaping and will contribute to shaping future leaders in the health and ageing sector. The position will be offered for a term of four years, to an individual and then it is envisaged that their track record will allow them to apply further funding. We hope to offer this fellowship in perpetuity.
