Professor Ingmar Skoog, Director of the Neuropsychiatric Epidemiology Research group of Psychiatry at the Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Gothenburg, Sweden
Professor Ingmar Skoog is a world leader on issues related to mental health and ageing.
He has worked with a number of global groups including The World Health Organisation, European Union, British Medical Research Council and the Harvard School of Public Health.
He is a recipient of number of prestigious awards, including the Zenith Fellows Award from the Alzheimer's Association and the Danish Strömgren prize in psychiatry.
Prof Skoog has been involved in the world's longest running population study and was the first to report on the link between vascular disease risk factors and dementia. He continues to explore vascular, genetic and hormonal factors linked to dementia and other mental health disorders in the ageing population.
