Caring People Needed for Mentally Stimulating Research
Who can participate?
- Individuals diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and a family member or friend.
What does this involve?
- The study is seeking people who are willing to participate in mentally stimulating group sessions, initially once a week, for six weeks. Participants will then be encouraged to continue the mentally stimulating activities at home for five weeks, before reuniting as a group for a final week.
- Assessments of thinking abilities and well being will also be undertaken.
- Total length of study involvement: 6 months.

- Research has found a relationship between mentally stimulating leisure activities and reduced rates of cognitive decline.
- Sessions delivered by members of the research team experienced in assessments and education sessions with people with Alzheimer’s disease.
