Ms Josephine Shaw

Josephine Shaw is a Research Psychologist. She completed the Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology in 2001 at The University of Western Australia and was then accepted by UWA into the Masters of Applied Developmental Psychology and Graduate Diploma of Education, which she completed in 2003. In 2004 Josephine spent time at Santa Maria College working as their College Counsellor on a leave replacement. During the period 2005 to 2007 Josephine joined the Education Department of WA as a School Psychologist in the Fremantle-Peel district where she serviced more than twelve schools in Fremantle, Rockingham and Mandurah. In 2006 Josephine also worked as a part-time researcher with The University of Melbourne where she interviewed teachers and students regarding their perceptions of the STAR peer tutoring program which was run by Murdoch University. This led to her interest in pursuing further research positions and she consequently joined the WA Centre for Health and Ageing in mid 2007. Since joining WACHA, Josephine has worked on a number of studies including the PACE, Heart-Mind, Vita-D and ACTIVEDEP projects.
