Ms Melissa Lindeman
Ms Melissa Lindeman has been employed as Senior Lecturer (Allied Health) at Batchelor Institute of Indigenous Tertiary Education for the past three years. Ms Lindeman will coordinate the aged care programs for Indigenous students at both VET and Higher Education levels. During this time she was also contracted by the Northern Territory government to investigate assessment practices of HACC provides in Central Australia, and to develop a training program for remote HACC coordinators on client assessment. Melissa was involved in a range of research projects in senior roles whilst employed at the National Ageing Research Institute (1997-2001). She has expertise in qualitative methodologies and adult education. She has experience in working with Indigenous communities, and has published in the area of aged care and action research. She has recently submitted a PhD thesis through the University of Melbourne examining the professional development needs of home and community care assessment staff. Her role will be as consultant in qualitative research methods, including involvement with focus groups and analysis of data.
